Horses At Auction – Preview (HAAP)
Often dropped at the sale yards with no history and no name, the future of many horses is bleak. Horses At Auction – Preview (HAAP) is a volunteer team who highlights horses in sale yards to find them great homes with a future - other than a knackery, rodeos or dealers.
Many enthusiasts wishing to offer horses a home are unable attend the sales due to work commitments, or they may live too far away to attend. The HAAP team offers absentee bidders access to free professional assessments on any horses they are considering, a free bidding service, along with recommended reliable transport – horses have been rehomed and transported to every State in Australia, including far north WA.
The process: The Horses At Auction – Preview team photograph the horses, source information from the auctioneer or vendors, and upload pictures and details onto their facebook site:
Simply ‘Like’ their page to receive sales notifications. Secure online bidding The team at HAAP offers a secure online website to accept bids, and 4 dedicated phone lines for all enquiries. Simply click on:
Team members have each bidder online during the auction process. This enables bidders to participate live during the purchase of their horse.
At the conclusion of the sale, bidder details are passed to the Auction House sales office, who then process credit cards for each horse purchased. Charges are: purchase price of horse + sales office 2.2% credit card fee + $5 hay fee. GST is applicable to some horses.
Please note: The bidding service and assessments provided by the team at HAAP are completely free. HAAP is NOT a rescue, they do not accept donations, nor are they financially affiliated with any company, the Auction House, any individual, rescue organisation or training facility. Their recommendations regarding training and transport are based on experience and positive feedback from the community.
